Import of Token Theta to the Theta wallet: a step-by-step guide
As a user of the Theta Network, you are probably familiar with the unique experience of interacting with the tokens inside the metamask browser wallet. However, there may be moments in which you encounter problems that import token theta from the mainnet theta to Metamask. In this article, we will guide you through the Taken Theta import process using the address of the necessary contract.
What is a Metamasca surface?
Before immersing ourselves in the solution, we quickly understand what a metromasca surface is. The Metamask portfolio has two surfaces: one for the import and export of Ethereum -based token (such as Ether) and another to interact with the Theta network. When you import Token Theta from Mainnet to Metamask, you are essentially exposing them to the Ethereum public network.
Why can’t I “import” my token theta?
The reason why it is not possible to directly import the token theta to Metamask is that you need to obtain a contractual address for the token theta contract. This address of the contract is required to validate and authorize any transactions of ether involving the token theta.
IMPORTMENT OF TOKEN THETA using the address of the necessary contract
To successfully import your token theta, follow these steps:
- Open the metamask browser portfolio : make sure you access the Metamask portfolio.
- Click “View” or press Ctrl + I (Windows / Linux) / Command + I (Mac) to activate the View mode. This will display a list of all accounts available in your wallet.
- Look for the Taken Theta contract: type “address of the Token Theta contract” in the search bar and press Enter. You should see a list of contracts related to the token theta. Look for the one with the name
0x ...(where `...it is the address of the contract).
- Copy the address of the contract : select the address of the contract from the list and copy it.
- Open Theta Mainnet Explorer : Back to the Metamask browser wallet and click “Go to Theta Mainnet Explorer”.
- Look for the Token Theta contract: Type the address of the Taken Theta contract in the search bar and press Enter. Theta Mainnet Explorer will display a list of all available contracts relating to the token theta.
- Find the address of the contract : look for the address of the contract that you have previously copied (for example,
0x ...). You should see it listed next to the name of the contract.
Import of the token theta
After finding the address of the necessary contract, click it and select “Import” from the drop -down menu. Metamask will now try to import your token theta on your account.
In case of success, you should be able to view the token theta imported inside the Metamask portfolio.
